Patsy Ann MATTHEWS

Patsy Ann Matthews, 78, 4807 Hidden Cove, Quincy, died at 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 29, 2010) in Blessing Hospital.

She was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Joplin, Mo., a daughter of Roscoe Morris and Jewell Wickham Patterson. On Aug. 14, 1954, she married Dallas Matthews in St. Louis. He died on Oct. 25, 1999.

Patsy was a graduate of McKinley High School in St. Louis. She was a stay-at- home mother until her daughter went to high school. She was a clerk at the office of the city of Naperville. Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for her family. In her spare time she liked to play bridge. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura Snelling and her husband, Larry, of Quincy; three granddaughters, Megan Muehlenfeld and her fiancé, Patrick Fulling of Maryville, Kristen Nicole Muehlenfeld of Quincy, and Rachel Renee Snelling of Versailles; a great-grandson, Jaxon David Fulling; a brother, James Patterson and his wife, Jean, of Huntsville, Ala.; three nephews, Dr. Lansing Patterson, Brian Patterson, and Eric Patterson, as well as several other nieces and nephews on her husband's side of the family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Church of Christ, with Rev. Timothy A. White conducting. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
