Richard L. "Dick" Miller, 90, of Plymouth, IL died at 9:53 am Thursday May 11, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL.
He was born on March 19, 1933, near Plymouth, IL to Elza Clay and Helen Elizabeth Stewart Miller. He married Merlene G. Johnson on June 25, 1952 in the First Baptist Church in Plymouth. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2017.
Dick was a 1951 graduate of Plymouth High School. He along with his wife, Merlene owned and operated D & M Earthmoving, farmed and raised cattle.
Dick proudly served his country in the US Air Force and was a lifetime member of the Plymouth American Legion Post # 912 and Macomb VFW. Post # 1921. He had attended the Crossing in Macomb and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.
He is survived by a son, Gary Miller of McAllen, TX, a daughter, Teresa (Bob) Orris of Plymouth, IL; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy (Danielle) Knowles, Justin (Kelsey) Orris, Traci (Ryan) VanFleet, Amanda Miller and her fiancé Michael Churchill, Ashley (Casey) Cornwell, Andrew (Brooke) Miller and Matthew (Miriam) Miller, 17 great-grandchildren, a brother, Larry (Kaye) Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Miller, a sister, Jean Portlock and a brother, Don Miller.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Saturday May 13, 2023, at the Plymouth Circle Community Center (former Plymouth Methodist Church) in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers his family request that memorial contributions be made to the Plymouth American Legion or the Plymouth Circle Community Center.
The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is handling arrangements.

Dick was the best neighbor a person could ask for - as a young , broke kid, he helped me out many times, he will be missed greatly.
