Robert Allen Slee, 66, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at his home with family by his side. He courageously battled cancer for three years.
Bob was born May 15, 1958, in Iowa City, IA to Jack M. and Virginia (Cattle) Slee. A proud graduate of Quincy Senior High in 1976, he excelled in track and football, showcasing his competitive spirit. While in high school, he spent time learning the streets of Quincy as a delivery boy for Brown Drug. He attended Southern IL University and returned to Quincy to work at Kirlin's Hallmark. He worked his way up in the company, overseeing the development and design of newly remodeled stores. He ended his 38-year career as the warehouse manager, overseeing many Kirlin stores across the upper Midwest.
Bob's first marriage was to Rena McPike. He then married Teresa Uppinghouse on September 17, 1993. To this union two children were born. Bob also welcomed two teenage children and later a nephew of Teresa's into their home.
Bob had a great personality, a devilish smile, and a kind heart. He had a love for music, reading, and sports. Bob enjoyed the great outdoors. Especially exploring the beauty of the Mississippi River from Quincy to Hannibal, specifically from the seat of a canoe or kayak. Camping trips with the BKA group held a special place in his heart, as they honored his best friends and created memories that Bob treasured deeply. Bob was very handy, he did all of his own home renovations, often with the help of friends and family. Spending time with his family brought him great joy. His many friends remember him as fun, upbeat, easy going, and a grill master who would happily feed the whole neighborhood.
Family was the cornerstone of Bob's life. He is survived by his four devoted children, Will F. Uppinghouse (Heather), Jessie L. Kamm (Cory), Joseph T. Slee (fiancée Marissa), and Samantha A. Slee. His legacy continues through his three adoring grandchildren, Connor Kamm, Cooper Kamm, and Ellie Buckley. Bob also leaves behind a brother, David H. Slee (Kathy), and two sisters, Marilyn Osterhaus (Matt) and Debbie Broerman (Greg), along with many cherished nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death, and he now joins them in eternal rest.
Bob's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his spirit remains alive in the laughter shared, the stories told, and the memories cherished.
A family graveside will be held in the Spring.

To the Slee Family, So sorry for your loss. I learned of Bob´s passing on a recent visit back home to Quincy.
Fond grade school memories of Bobby where we would race HO cars and build crazy tracks. Also after a big ice storm, Bobby taught me how to ice skate on the frozen church parking lot behind their house!
And lastly, he did have a sense of adventure and wonderment. I can distinctly hear David always ask him: "Bobby, what did you do THAT for?"
