Terry Behymer Obituary

Terry Eugene Behymer, 60, of Mount Sterling, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care, Mount Sterling.

He was born on March 17, 1957, in Rushville, a son of Orville Lee Roy and Wilma Jean Ward Behymer, and they survive. He married Tammy Liehr on Aug. 3, 1980, at Perry United Methodist Church, and she survives.

Terry graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1975. During high school, he worked at Fry's Garage in Hersman, and farmed part time. After graduation, he farmed with his dad and Grandpa Ward on what is now the family Centennial Farm. Continuing to farm, he began Behymer Crop Consulting and has been an independent certified crop adviser, operating his business for the last 30 years. He has thoroughly enjoyed each grower as they worked together to make sound agronomic decisions, boosting yields and profitability. He also included Pfister Seed sales into his business.

Terry enjoyed drag racing his orange Dodge Demon, tractor pulling the family 1066 International tractor and snowmobiling with his buddies up north. He enjoyed making things work better and go faster. Terry attended his kids' many activities and, most recently, enjoyed going to everything he could in which his grandchildren, Alex and Ella, participated. He attended Timewell Baptist Church, was elected a trustee of the Mount Sterling Township Board and was a director on the Hersman Cemetery board. He was also a past St. Mary School Board member.

Survivors include two children, Bradley Eugene (Ashley) of Mount Sterling and Stephanie Brooke Behymer of West Des Moines, Iowa; two grandchildren, Alex Eugene and Ella Brooke Behymer, both of Mount Sterling; three sisters, Janice Westberg (Gary) of Cairo, Ga,. Charlotte Koch (Deacon Paul) of Mount Sterling, and Sue Henry (Paul) of Bowen; and one brother, David (Martha) of Rushville. Also surviving are aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Orville and Eva Dunmire Behymer, and Merle and Laura McCoy Ward.
