Terry BRUNS Obituary

Terry Lynn Bruns, 49, of 1018 Windsor, Joplin, Mo., died at 8:37 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 17, 2009) in Blessing Hospital. She was born Jan. 4, 1960, in Quincy, the daughter of Donald and Virginia Groh Harmon. On July 4, 10997, she married Alan Lee Bruns in Quincy. He survives. Terry attended Quincy High School and had worked as a nurse's aid at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy and as a secretary at Best Western in Columbia, Mo. She spent the last 10 years as a homemaker, She was a member of Parkade Baptist Church in Columbia, Mo, and had been actively attending Forest Park Baptist Church in Joplin. Terry loved to cook for her family and friends as well as for people in time of need. In her spare time she very much enjoyed making floral arrangements for formal occasions. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors in addition to her husband include her father, Donald Harmon of Joplin; a son, Jason Cook and his wife, Heather, of Quincy; a daughter, Melissa Austin and her husband, Mike, of Quincy; two stepdaughters, Cindy Knoblock and her husband, Bradley, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Angela Bruns and her fiance', Ryan Klinner, of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Camren Cook, Logan Cook, Allie Hankins, Devin Austin, Jacob and Caitlyn Knoblock, and Alexis and Avery Klinner; a sister, Donna Hagerbaumer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother. SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy with the Rev. Mickey Farlow officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy. VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy. MEMORIALS: Fallen Patriot Fund. It is with a heavy heart tht I read Terry's Obituary. She was so young and beautiful. It seems like only yesterday that we introduced Alan to the beautiful blond who whould become his bride. It is with great sadness that I read the obituary and write these words. My mother and I send condolences and deepest sympathy to my uncle Don and my cousin, Donna, as well as to Alan, Jason and Missy.
