Dolores J. Valentine was born on Saturday, Jan. 25, 1941, in Griffithville, Ark., to her parents, Estel and Violet Jackson Christal. She completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, in Searcy, Ark. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years at the time of his death, Harold A. Valentine; and two brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Stan (Lisa) Valentine, Scott (Jill) Valentine and Michael (Dina) Valentine; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, along with many friends.
She retired from Harding University as a bookkeeper in the Financial Aid Department and alongside her husband, they served as dorm parents for Armstrong Hall for 18 years.
Dolores was always supportive of the things her family was involved in and wanted to be in the know about their interests so that she could talk with them about it. She treated everyone like her own and never left a visit or a phone call without saying I love you.
Dolores loved to go shopping, loved to cook, especially for her family and friends. She was very supportive of others, especially her husband, in his every endeavor. She was known to have a green thumb and could make anything grow.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with a public visitation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. There will be a private family service later following the wishes of their mother. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy.
