Pamela Jeanine (Aprile) Du Bois went to her rest on Nov. 16, 2025. She drew her last breath, peacefully, at 11:17 p.m. with her husband of 35 years, Lou, close at her side. She was 64 years old.
Pamela began her life's journey on July 18, 1961, in Louisville, Ky., to parents Don and Joyce Aprile. She was the fifth born of six children, David, Gay, Michael, Mary and Christopher. She was preceded in death by Gay and Michael Aprile and Mary Eversole.
Pam and her husband, Lou, had set down roots in Searcy, in 2021 after retiring from a successful career in aviation. Together, in 2008 they founded and managed Du Bois Aviation (Chino, Calif.), a venture that continues to operate and thrive to this day.
Pammy soldiered and valiantly battled the effects of scoliosis since childhood, and was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in her 20s, a disease that had claimed the life of her dear sister, Gay, in 1979.
In 1995, given six months to live, with a transplant waiting list of two years, she stumbled upon a pioneering surgery: a living donor lung lobe transplant from compatible family members. Brothers David and Michael each graciously donated a lobe, a very successful surgery which supplied her every breath, until her last. Due to side effects of medication, Pam also required a kidney transplant that she successfully received in 2011.
To know Pam was to know her resilience, her love of family, friends and her faith. She is survived by her husband, Lou; brothers, David and wife Benita, Christopher and wife Doris and Doug (Mary) Eversole; in-laws, Phil and Helen Du Bois, and Thomas and Tina Shefflette; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
A memorial service to honor Pam will be held Dec. 1 at Cloverdale Church of Christ in Searcy, Ark. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.; service will follow at 11 a.m. For those unable to attend, a Zoom link will be provided. Lou Du Bois will be the contact for those interested.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Healthwell Grants and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Visit Pamela's online obituary at www.colefunerals.com.
