LINELL COOK JOHNSON

1932 - 2025

Linell Cook Johnson, age 93, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025.
Born on Feb. 25, 1932, in Pace, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Susie Lewis Cook. Mrs. Johnson was a retired homemaker who also worked for the Original Appalachian Artworks (Cabbage Patch Kids) for 10 years. She is remembered as an excellent seamstress who loved her flowers, especially the wisteria. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, and she greatly enjoyed decorating for the occasion. Another special memory is the bond she shared with her faithful furbaby, Layla. Linell was a member of Return Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carley Lee Johnson, Jr.; and brother and sister-in-law, Jim Cook (Evelyn).
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carla Michelle (Shellie) Gerrell (Jeff); grandchildren, Madison Hester (Stephen), Malia Gerrell (Ryan Sparks), Brayden Gerrell, and Owen Gerrell; great grandchild, Isaac; several extended relatives and friends.
Funeral services are 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at Return Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Shore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the service hour on Wednesday, at Return Baptist Church prior to the service.
