Gerald Schwegel Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" Leroy Schwegel, 65
Jerry passed away January 21, 2025, from cancer. He was born November 29, 1959, in Bemidji, MN to Albert and Betty. During childhood, the family moved to Whitefish, MT. After school he joined the US Army and was stationed in South Korea. He returned home and married Christine Anderson. Together they made their home in Olney and raised three children. Jerry worked his last 20+ years on Big Mountain in vehicle maintenance. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as cutting firewood, riding dirt bikes, and shooting guns. He was PADI certified in scuba diving and graduated from helicopter mechanic school.
He is survived by wife Christine, daughter Chrystal and grandson Christian, daughter Hillary, son-in-law John and granddaughter Zoe, son Cooper and granddaughter Maya. Brothers Tom (Essa), Dave (Penny), Roy (Cheryl) and sisters Luanne and Lee, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents, sister Lori, brother Bob, and nephew Chase.
He was a wonderful man who was always there to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed.
