Died: December 15, 2025 in Morrison, IL
HELEN A. WALDBUSSER, 98, of Prophetstown, IL, died Monday, December 15, 2025, at Homestead of Morrison in Morrison ,IL.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church, co-officiated by Pastor Rod Dye and Rev. Joey Garcea. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Henry C. Adams Public Library and Prophetstown United Methodist Church.
Helen was born January 23, 1927, in Hooppole, IL, to John E. and Martha (Blackert) Albrecht. She was educated in the rural Henry County grade schools and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1944. On May 8, 1949, she married Robert C. Waldbusser at Leon United Methodist Church in Prophetstown. They shared their lives for 48 years before his passing on May 5, 1998. Helen took pride in her strong work ethic and her service to others. While in school, she helped neighbors with various tasks. She later worked at a doctor's office in Davenport, IA, at Lowery's Grocery Store for seven years, and served as secretary for the Prophetstown United Methodist Church for ten years. She also served as an election judge for 34 years. In addition, Helen devoted herself to life as a farm wife and to caring for her family. That devotion extended throughout her life attending all of her grandsons' sporting events, plays, and concerts. She was a lifelong member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crafting, working with flowers, gathering with friends and family to play cards, watching plays at the Showboat Theatre in Clinton, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying Whitey's Ice Cream.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra (George) Vaught of Bloomington, IL; one son, Michael Waldbusser of Downers Grove, IL; two grandsons, Zachary Kelley of Anchorage, AK and Blake Kelley of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Marvin Albrecht of Sterling, IL and Wayne Albrecht of Dekalb, IL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one sister, Mildred (Maurice) Miatke; one brother, John (Pat) Albrecht, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Albrecht and Betty Albrecht.

Helen and Bob were part of the village that raised the village children. Bob was on the local grade school board along with my dad. So they were always there on our school events. They were also shared the life of farmer families. We all worked together to raise our crops. My symapthies to the family. Ed McKenna
