Philip Pitrowiski Obituary

Philip J. Pitrowiski, 79, of Medway, died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 19, 2016. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Carlette (Boutelle) Pitrowiski. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Frank Pitrowiski and Ruth (Elliott) Pitrowiski. Philip and Carlette resided in Houghs Neck Quincy until moving to Medway in 1965. He is survived by his loving children, Debbra Pitrowiski of Grafton, MA, John Pitrowiski of Waterbury, VT and Darlene Roberts and her husband Troy Roberts of Milford, MA. Phil worked at ITT Continental Bakery (Wonder Bread) for many years both in Dorchester and then Natick until retiring in 1987 whereupon he owned and operated his painting business until health issues forced him to retire at age 77. Phil participated in many road races and Boston Marathons and was known for his running and walking in subsequent years around his hometown of Medway. Phil was a member of the Franklin Elks Lodge #2136 and the Bakery and Confectionary Union. Nothing gave him more pleasure or made him more proud than watching his grandchildren grow and become young adults, never missing a chance to attend their sporting events or other activities. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Pitrowiski, Kaitlynn Pitrowiski, Ashley Pitrowiski, Trevor Roberts and Nicole Roberts. He is also the beloved brother of Elaine McLaughlin and is predeceased by his brother, Ronald Pitrowiski. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Medway Village Church, 170 Village St. in Medway. Burial will be held at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Medway Village Church Memorial Fund, 170 Village St, Medway, MA 02053
