I don´t know if the family is still reading these messages, I pray so. Mr. O´Connor and his beloved wife, Peggy, were my host parents when I was a student in Braintree from my 7th grade through graduation. This was as a part of the METCO program where students from inner city Boston were bussed to local suburbs. Few people know the social bravery of doing such a thing in those days. I will always remember them visiting our home in Roxbury and social unrest breaking out during their visit. The fact that they thought that it was important for our family to feel that we were in this busing thing together to that level, really meant a great deal to our family and my dad, particularly, spoke of that event often. In the rush of life we moved out of touch with the O´Connors but they were never far from our hearts as friends and influencers. My career in education is in no small part due to Mr. O´Connor saying he worked in education. We send our condolences to Pat and Beth over the loss of their parents. May they Rest In Peace.

Hello,
I found an articlefrom 1943 in an antique book, it's about your relative Thomas A. O'Connor who recently passed. I'm in Ga, but book was purchased in NH by my mom. Article dated August 8th, 1942 and has a picture of Thomas O'Connor. Email me, i would be happy to send it to you.

I am very sad to hear of the passing of Tom and would like to send my condolences to his family & friends.
He had a very big impact on my life as he started my love for genealogy because of his many genealogical contributions on The Island Register website in the 1990's when genealogy on the internet was in it's infancy. Thanks to him I learned about my Farrell family history & I started down this road of history & research.
We had many "electronic" conversations & he always had something interesting to share.
He will be missed & I owe a lot to him.
All the Best,
Barbara (Lannigan) Richards

Tom was a fine gentleman, friend and neighbor. The door was always open and a kind word spoken for as long as I can remember. Many great talks and memories on Liberty Street. May God Bless him and You, his wonderful Family. Frankie Collins
