Maria A. Claussell

Maria Aurora Claussell, age 88, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday morning, December 28, 2013. Aurora was born in Mexico City on August 13, 1925 to Natalia and Manuel Nuez, and immigrated to the USA and settled in Framingham in 1963. Aurora, La Tia, helped establish the Mexican tradition of serenading the Virgen of Guadalupe with a Mariachi band at St. Stephen Church, where she was a parishioner for over 40 years. She was the devoted wife of late husband Carlos Gonzalez, and Pedro Juan (Tito) Claussell, and most recently, Pablo Caraballo. She is survived by her siblings | Berta, Felipe and Pancho. She leaves behind her adoring children | Jos (Pepe) Gonzales and his wife, Amanda, Carlos (Mike) Gonzalez and his wife, Ione, Reyna (Mariana) Gonzalez, and her partner, David, Maricela (Chela) Claussell Quintanilla, Alejandrina (Alex) Gray and her husband Michael, her loving grandchildren | Crissy, Nena, Jimmy, Monica, Manuel Pedro, Romeo, Max, Csar, Gus, and sweet Hannah- her great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews, as well as grand-nieces and nephews. Aurora is predeceased by her siblings Miguel, Sarah, and Emilio. Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral mass on Friday, January 3, at 10 AM in St. Stephen's Church, Concord St. (Rt. 126), Framingham. Burial followed at St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham. Visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., (corner of Union Ave) Framingham were held Thursday from 4 | 7 PM.
