He was the husband of Mary Lou (Dietrich) Stover. Born in Reading, PA he was the son of the late Robert M. Stover Sr. and Gertrude (Everline) Stover.
He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
He was employed at Firestone, Pottstown for over 30 years and at Paul W. Essig Plumbing and Heating part time for 15 years.
He is also survived by his children: Robert C. Stover, Catherine (Stover) Rauenzahn, Gerard Stover, Ronald Stover, Dianne Stover and Christine (Stover), wife of Russel Debiec, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Anne Louise (Stover) Alsup.
Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Henninger Funeral Home, Inc., 229 N. 5th St., Reading. Viewing will from 10 a.m. to the time of service. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the National Audobon Society, 1201 Pawlings Road, Audubon, PA 19403.

Son, brother, husband, father, friend. He was all that and so much more. He was so very special and unique. Your passing has left a big void in our lives.I will try to fill that void with the many wonderful memories I have. I am truly blessed to be able to call you my Dad.
