Thomas Anderson Obituary

On February 26, surrounded by family, Thomas J. Anderson joined his beloved wife, Nat, in Heaven. He also reunites with his older brother, Jerry, and his parents, Ruth and Paul Anderson. Tom was born July 6, 1929 in Harvey, IL. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he met the love of his life, Nat. For many years, Tom worked for M.I.T. and Draper Laboratory where he received commendation for his contributions to the Apollo Space Program and helped put a man on the moon. Tom and Nat lived in Boxford and Topsfield for over 50 years where they raised their four daughters. In addition to his family, one of Toms loves was music. He sang barbershop quartet with the same life-long friends for over 70 years. Another passion of Toms was the water. He spent many happy years at his camp on the Rowley River, Toad Hall, and at his home on Hoods Pond. He also loved fishing, boating, swimming, skiing, practical jokes, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his daughters and their husbands: Chris and John Guthro of Gilford, NH; Ginny and Rick Vogt of Arapahoe, NC; Nanand Jeff Cook of Newburyport, MA; and Peg and Bill Acheson of Gardner, ME. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and their spouses: Ben and Kate Guthro, Katie Guthro, Julie Vogt, Tom and Brittany Vogt, Nathan Vogt, Nick Acheson, Jake Acheson, and Karla Cook, and three great grandchildren: Will and Ryan Guthro, and Charlotte Vogt. Toms life was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Topsfield, MA on Saturday, March 1st. Donations may be made in Toms name to Care Alternatives Hospice, 100 Locke Dr., Marlborough, MA 01752.
