Hilda A. Smith
Hilda A. (Hubbard) Smith, 94, died peacefully on Dec. 8, 2012 at Beaumont of Northborough. Her husband, John Smith died in 1950. She leaves her daughter, Jacqueline Smith Tardif and husband Arthur of Amherst, NH; her granddaughter, Stephanie Collier and husband Robert of Holliston; her grandson, Adam Tardif and wife Alyson of Trumbull, CT; four great-grandchildren. Hilda was born in Clinton and lived in Berlin and Hudson for many years. She graduated from Hudson High School and Truesdale Hospital School of Nursing in Fall River. Mrs. Smith worked for years at Marlborough Hospital retiring as operating room supervisor. A calling hour was held on Friday, December 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Burial was private in South Cemetery, Berlin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Marlborough Hospital Auxiliary, c/o Maryann Stein, 157 Union St. 01752. Hilda was a special woman. I will remember our walks around the Beaumont/Whitney Place grounds when the weather was nice...how she longed to get outside and breath the fresh air. To Hilda's family, May your memories surround you and give you peace. MJ (a former nurse at Beaumont)

To the family Of Hilda.I am so saddened to hear of Hilda's passing. she was a very beautiful woman with so many warm,loving,caring traits. She was a wonderful room mate to my Grandmother Helen Horn when they roomed together several years ago.The last time I was with Hilda,was to bring her to My grandmothers Funeral on the other side of Marlboro To day her last goodbyes on Sept 17th 2011.It was a very special moving time,I will treasure always.She touched so many peoples lives,And I will miss her and all her grace.May she rest in loving peace.
