Rosemond A. (Leadbetter) Curley passed away on December 13, 2012 at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton. She was born in Leominster daughter of the late Ellsworth and Alice (Michaud) Leadbetter and was the wife of 57 years to the late Joseph W. Curley. Rose graduated from Bromfield High School, class of 1939, and was very artistically talented and found much pleasure designing her own home, flower gardens, painting, cake decorating, and hooking rugs. She dabbled in ceramics and candle making and was a perfectionist in every interest she pursued. In between raising her family she was a bookkeeper, a switchboard operator for the Town of Harvard before direct dial phones came to town. She also taught at Fort Devens, worked for H/R Block, and was a gift shop buyer at a local hotel. She is survived by her children, Daniel Joseph Curley of Oregon, Diane Valenti of Pennsylvania, Kerry Curley of Harvard, Alice and her husband Stephen Ellingwood of Still River, MA and Ann and her husband Jonathan Smith of Lancaster, MA. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren: Nathaniel, Sean, Danielle, Jason, Christopher, Victoria, Kendra, Tyler, and Shannon, and 2 great grandchildren. A visiting hour will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 10-11AM at St. Benedict Abbey. 252 Still River Rd., Still River (Harvard) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Harvard. In Lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley, Activities Fund, 191 Foster Street, Littleton, MA 01460.
