Janet B. McLaughlin

Janet B. (McCarthy) McLaughlin, 92, of New Castle, NH, formerly of Cohasset, MA, passed away December 19, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2009, after 60 years of marriage. She leaves her four children: Bill and his wife Dr. Wendy McLaughlin of New Castle, daughter Jan and her husband Niesi Sie of Boynton Beach, FL, daughter Beverly and her husband Steve Tremel of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and son John McLaughlin of Punta Gorda, FL. She also leaves three grandchildren: Jill and Nick McLaughlin, and Stephen Tremel. In addition, she is survived by her sister Phyllis and her husband Howard Crosby of New Castle, NH, and brother Bim and his wife Judy McCarthy of Baltimore, MD. Janet graduated from Beaver Country Day School, Bradford College, and Tufts University (Bouv). A lifelong athlete, she won numerous state swimming championships and taught physical education in the Newton Public School System. She coached the Cohasset High School Girls Tennis Team in the 60s and 70s, and the Bridgewater State College Girls Tennis Team in the 80s. The family appreciates the wonderful care and companionship she received at Wentworth Senior Living during her last two years. Private family service will be held at a later date.
