Andrew (Andy) Dowgiert, of Duxbury, MA and Big Pine Key, Fla. died in Florida on Oct. 17, 2013 with his family by his side. He was 69. He was the son of the late Victor Dowgiert and Blanche Dowgiert and was born in Poland. He is survived by his wife Roberta (Havey) Dowgiert, and three daughters, Elizabeth Frangioso and her husband, Timothy Frangioso of Chicopee, MA, Angela Dowgiert of West Roxbury and Krysten Dowgiert of Duxbury, two grandsons, Aidan and Andrew Hall of Duxbury and his sister Mary and brother-in-law Mario Zieba of Pembroke. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Victor Dowgiert. He retired from Pneumatic Scale Corporation in Quincy as a field service engineer. Andy was an avid organic gardener and was very successful in growing heirloom tomatoes and various peppers which he loved to distribute to his family, friends and neighbors. Andy was a kind, thoughtful and generous person who made a friend of everyone he met. A memorial service for Andy will be held at a later date in Duxbury.
