Gilbert Finch Obituary

Gilbert T. Finch, 82, of Crystal Ave., died suddenly Monday morning, October 10, 2011, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon. Mr. Finch was born in Boston, MA, on June 27, 1929, the son of Gilbert T. Finch Sr. and Alice (Lydon) Finch. He was a long time resident of Littleton, MA, where he worked 20+ years for Littleton Electric Light. He loved to travel, he loved his animals and was a avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox. He has resided in Jefferson for the past two years. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. Family members include his wife of 59 years, Dorothy E. (Thompson) Finch of Jefferson; a son Gilbert D. Finch Sr. and his wife Cheryl of Jefferson; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly Thompson and Chris of New Gloucester, ME, Gilbert D. Finch Jr. and Amy of Littleton, MA, Elizabeth Devlin and Jen of Lowell, MA; two great-granchildren, Brianna and Timothy Thompson of New Gloucester, ME; a sister Jean Smith of Weymouth, MA; and several nieces and nephews Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to Riverside Animal Rescue, 236 East Concord Road, Lunenburg, VT 05906.
