Virginia Scicchitani Obituary

Virginia A. Scicchitani Virginia Scicchitani CONCORD Virginia A. (Hadley) Scicchitani, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. She was the wife of the late Rosario Roy Scicchitani. Born in Palm Beach, Fla., on March 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arthur D. and Emma A. (Beland) Hadley. Raised and educated in Brighton, she graduated from Girls Latin high school and later attended Northeastern University where she was one of two women accepted to the universitys first womens class. Virginia later married and moved to Concord, where she was a devoted wife and mother. She worked as an accountant for various businesses and her work and record-keeping was known to be meticulous. During her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf and later her weekly bridge games with her devoted friends. She is survived by her loving daughter, Dawn S. Beers and her husband, Gene, of Westford; three cherished grandsons, Robert Beers and his wife, Tracy, of Peabody, Jeremy Beers and his wife, Mary, of Littleton and Matthew Beers and his wife, Becky, of Fitchburg, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nephews, David of Salem, N.H., and Michael of Melrose, and two nieces, Cathy of Onset and Tracy of Methuen. Gifts in Virginias name may be made to a charity of choice.
