Roger Guptill Obituary

Roger W. Guptill, 85, of Harvard. died at Life Care Center of Acton Saturday, July 24, 2010, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Brookline, on Oct 22, 1924, son of the late Frank and Catherine (Brown) Guptill. He grew up in Harvard most on his life, attended Harvard Elementary School and graduated from Concord High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the European Theater and was a member of the Army Medical Corps. Roger worked as a caretaker for families in Harvard for most of his life. He was a member of American Magicians Society, U.S. Power Squadron, and a member and treasurer of the American Legion. Mr. Guptill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha (White) Guptill of Harvard, a niece Linda and her husband Jim Purcell and their son Derek of Stratford, Conn., two nephews Richard Sarmento of Tampa, Fla. And Donald and his wife Heather Sarmento, and two grandnieces and nephew of Montana. Visiting hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton of Thursday, July 29, from 7-9 p.m. A Graveside service will be held at Bellevue Cemetery in Harvard of Friday, July 30, at 10 a.m.

Roger, You touched the lives of so many people during your years at Life Care. You always made a conscious effort to remember everbody's first and last name, and that made people feel special and important. You truly loved life and got the very most out of it, right to the end.
