Debra Dann Obituary

Debra Marie Dann, of Hull, born on November 17, 1954, in Hingham, to the late Mary C. Dann and Lester Woodbury Dann, passed away on September 30, 2018, in Hull, at the age of 63. Debra was the loving partner of Richard Burke. She was preceded in death by her sister, Claire M. McLaughlin. Debra is survived by her brothers, Edward Dann Sr. and Earl Dann; as well as 8 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews, who dearly loved their "Aunt Debi". She graduated from Hingham High School in 1972 and worked for many years in the hardware industry after graduation. Debi loved animals. In her younger years, she would go horseback riding as often as she could. She was an avid board game player and loved playing scrabble with her friends. Debi was happiest when she was with her family and when she was gardening. Debi loved family, friends, but most of all, God. She talked the talk and walked the walk as they say and was a longtime member of the North River Church women's prayer group, where she made many loving friends all united in the same beliefs. Additionally, she assisted her sister Claire with the children of South Shore Baptist Church, where she attended for several years along with family. The strength of those beliefs is what kept Debi moving forward with the love and compassion she showed to all who knew her. Her smile was a beacon of the love she shared and was returned to her ten-fold. There are some that bring light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains. That was Debi. The graveside service will be private. For additional information and online condolences, please visit www.downingchapel.com.

Dear Eddie, Earl and family,

Debi and I were friends in high school. I was sorry to hear of her death. After school we both got jobs at John Hancock and enjoyed many years working together. Sharing in your sadness as you remember Debi. Rest in peace my friend.
