Andrew Croke Obituary

Dr. Andrew G. Croke, 71, of Stoughton, passed away suddenly on December 7, 2015, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease. He was the loving husband of Janice A. (Spinelli) Croke for 43 years. H e was born in Providence, R.I., to the late John E. Croke Jr. and Gertrude R. (Grimes) Croke. After graduating from St. Raphaels Academy in Pawtucket, R.I., in 1962 and Providence College in 1966, he attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Upon graduation in 1972, Dr. Croke completed residency at the RI Hospital Samuels Sinclair Dental Center, and he was proudly named as a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1982. He then had a successful family dental practice in Stoughton and Plainville for over 25 years. Dr. Croke also continued his involvement with the Samuels Sinclair Dental Center as a weekly volunteer providing dental care for underserved children and as a residency instructor throughout his career. Dr. Croke lastly worked as a dentist for the Massachusetts House of Corrections before retiring in 2013. Dr. Croke is best remembered for his dry wit, love of history and easy going nature. He was also deeply devoted to his family and church. As a longtime communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Stoughton, he served as a religious education teacher, eucharistic minister and a New England Sinai Hospital volunteer. In addition to his wife, Dr. Croke is survived by his three children, Christopher A. Croke and his wife Stephanie of Garnet Valley, Pa., Jeffrey M. Dear Gert, Connie and Ginger, and Andy's wife and children,

One of our Ocean Grove neighbors sent me Andy's obituary. I am so sorry to hear that you have lost both of your brothers.
Some combination of Maureen, Kate and I walk down Cole Street nearly every year and it brings us many fond memories of your wonderful family.
We have also lost our dear three Kelly brothers. Not sure how we have coped but keeping them close through memories seems to help. Especially when so many memories are linked to their humor. I hope the same works for you.
Deepest sympathy,
Rosemary Kelly Morgan
