Daniel J. Fernald

Daniel J. Dan Fernald of Carver formerly of Lakeville and Randolph, passed away unexpectedly July 8, 2017 at the age of 59. Dan was born in Stoughton, grew up in Randolph and was graduate of Randolph High School, Class of 1977. He worked as an inspector for National Grid Gas Co. and retired with 30 years of service. He loved the outdoors and all that it encompassed especially fishing and hunting. He was known as Mr. Fix-It to his family and friends and could be counted on to help with almost anything. His greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. He is the beloved husband of Nancy (Higgins) Fernald and the loving father of Danielle Kilgour and her husband Mark of Hanson and Steven Fernald of Plymouth. Devoted brother of Judith Arenti of Great Barrington, Robert Fernald Jr. of Mashpee, Dana Fernald of Lakeville, Mary Conlon of Stoughton, Joseph Fernald of Bridgewater, the late Linda Dalanis and Pam Bailey. Dear son of the late Robert and Mary (Connolly) Fernald. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend memorial visiting hours in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St., Randolph, MA 02368, Wednesday July 12, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m., immediately followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
