Charles "Scott" Heggie, 70, of Sebring, FL., died on April 25th, 2021 from natural causes in Sebring, FL. He was the son of the late Herbert C. Heggie and Marjorie (Lecraw) Heggie. He spent most of his years in Swampscott. He attended and graduated from Swampscott High School in 1968. Scott moved and lived in various states before settling down again in his hometown of Swampscott in 1985. This time bringing the love of his life, Ruth Heggie and her two children; Terry McNeil Newton and Thomas James McNeil (TJ). Scott accepted his new role as father to his two children. He worked over twenty years for Marshall's in the distribution center. At the age of fifty, Scott attended Salem State College and got a degree in Social Work. He worked for Family and Children's Services in Lynn. Later retiring and moving to Sebring, FL in 2016. Scott was an active member of Swampscott Congregational Church. He never missed a year helping out with annual events such as their Food Fair, Let it Snow and My Brother's Table. He also was proud of his time and volunteer help with Habitat for Humanity and travelling to Guatemala. He leaves one surviving brother, Keith Heggie from Salem. Two dear friends, Linda and June in FL. He leaves five grandchildren; Tiffany McNeil (NH) and Michaela, Reilly, Chloe, Ethan Newton (Maine). There will be a memorial service on September 12th after regular Sunday services at First Church Congregational in Swampscott at approximately 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to join us for his life remembrance!
