We were so happy to have celebrated Jack's life with his family yesterday in Marblehead. I am touched that as everyone gathered around the wonderful images of Jack's boyhood, school years, marriages, parenthood, and sunset years flashing up on the screen to hoots and cheers from the assembled; so many of those candid shots catch Jack with his arms around others, and their arms around him. Towards his later years he just seemed to move from one hug to another with a big delighted smile on his face. Well, if that doesn't say it all then I don't know what does. It is a lovely image to cherish.

Missey, I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a wonderful man, and makes me sad I never met him. Please be kind to yourself, and know that your old friends in Colorado are thinking of you in this profoundly painful time.

It is a rare being who can take his troubles and distill them into healing balm for others. Jack (and Missey too) are just that rare bird. Always honest, heartfelt and shooting straight for the heart, Jack did a tremendous amount of good in his life. AND entertained us along the way - doesn't get much better than that.
Sent to you along with our sincerest sympathy on the loss of such a treasure. I hope you know that you have the support of so many. Anne & Arthur

Missey, May the stars carry your sadness away,
May the flowers wipe away your tears,
And, above all, may silence make you strong.

If the measure of a person is how many others he helped Jack measures as a giant. He had a giant mind and a giant heart. He influenced others in positive ways more than any other person I know. He was a truly remarkable human being. With heartfelt sadness and condolences to his family.

Dear Missey and Family,
My sincerest condolences on the passing of Jack. I will be forever grateful that Jack crossed my path over 30 years ago, when I needed him most. Words do not describe the love that I have in my heart for Jack. I will miss our quick phone calls(not), that always turned to "Everything Lowell".
I will continue to honor you Jack, by always passing the message of hope to the newcomer that still suffers, as you so freely and kindly passed on to me.
I will miss your humor, your guidance in life, and most of all, our friendship.
Rest in Peace.
