George Crocker Obituary

George R. Crocker, 80, George R. Crocker, 80, died unexpectedly Sun. Jan. 31, 2021 at his Maynard, MA home. He was the beloved husband of Marion I. (Thileen) Crocker, to whom he was married for 55 years. Born in Boston and raised in Concord, MA he was the son of the late Lee Kenneth Crocker and Edna (Eaton) Crocker. A graduate of Concord High School, Mr. Crocker served honorably in the US Navy aboard the USS Damato for the adventure of traveling the world. He was a manager for Americold for 35 years before retiring. After a brief hiatus, he embarked on his next career with NAPA Auto Parts. Georges greatest accomplishment was his family with whom he loved spending time. Summers at the Cottage making memories with his grandchildren, tinkering with lawn mowers and assisting on various projects. George used to be an avid bowler and could always be persuaded into a competitive game of kickball.Never at a loss for words, George loved to the have a beer and shoot the bull with anyone. His ability to make people feel at ease with his happy- go-lucky personality lent itself to some long conversations. A proud herring choker he enjoyed many return trips to the Fatherland. He delighted playing tour guide and being able to share his memories with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their three children, Pamela Reiniger, John Crocker & his wife Michelle and Suzanne Crocker; 5 grandchildren: LCpl Richard Reiniger, USMC, Olivia Crocker, Nicholas Reiniger, Ashley Reiniger and Jack Crocker. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary, Charles "Cliff," Kenneth, Leonard, Ronald and Ralph Crocker, Ruth Norgoal and Lucy Espie, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Saturday February 6th from 1:00-4:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111), Acton. Due to the pandemic regulations, masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Graveside services with military honors in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard, will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, to honor George's legacy of family first, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley, 212 Great Road, Maynard, MA 01754, also online at www.bgcav.org/make-a- difference.

I was so sad to hear of George's passing. While I never met him personally, I was always hearing stories about him from his daughter, Pam. My thoughts go out to the entire family and friends. He will be missed.
