Elizabeth A. Brosman

1931 - 2021

Elizabeth Ann Brosman, 90, passed from this life on February 12, 2021, in Centerville, MA. Elizabeth, known to her friends as Betty, was born to George and Natalie Ludwig on January 27, 1931 in Detroit, MI. Growing up in Buffalo, NY, and attending the University of Buffalo to become a Medical Technologist. It was there that she met the love of her life Ralph A. Brosman. Married in 1952, they eventually settled in Needham, MA, raising four daughters. Betty retired from New England Deaconess (formerly Glover Memorial) Hospital as Blood Bank Supervisor. She earned her B.S. from Northeastern University and her M.S. from Leslie University. After retirement, she fulfilled a lifelong dream and moved to Centerville on Cape Cod. Betty, PWM, was a 50-year member of Wistaria OES Chapter No. 138. She served as a Deacon for both Needham and later South Congregational Church. She was well known for her ability to organize fundraising events, especially her famous lobster roll dinners. Betty was an avid gardener and could coax anything to life! She was a member of the Needham Garden Club and a faithful volunteer for the Cape Cod Horticultural Society. Betty was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sister, C. Susan VanSplunder, her daughters, Lynn DiRusso, Barbara Brosman, Nancy Bennett (Tim) and Susan LeBlanc; grandchildren Jennifer Smith, Kristen Gamble, Rebecca Bennett, Sarah Bennett, Thomas Bennett, Ashley Pileika, Lindsey Pileika, Samantha LeBlanc; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of VNA Cape Cod and the McCarthy Center for their invaluable support. A Celebration of Life is planned for July and Betty will be interred with her husband in Needham.
