Jessie Erskine Obituary

Jessie A. (Upham) Erskine, age 89, a longtime resident of Medfield, died on Friday, January 18, 2013, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick. Wife of the late Joseph F. Erskine Jr., she was born, raised and educated in Needham and was the daughter of the late Henry Howard and Jessie (Goss) Upham. She married Joseph F. Erskine, Jr., on June 6, 1948, and the couple settled in Medfield in 1950. Mrs. Erskine had been employed for many years as an assembler with Corning Glass in Medfield prior to driving school buses for twenty years for Medfield and Dover/Sherborn schoolchildren. She had been an active member of the Church of the Advent in Medfield and the Quinobequin Chapter #67, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed family, reading, card playing, and doting on her cats. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Cirella and husband Ralph of Shelton, CT, stepdaughter Dianne Clark and husband Richard of Fairhaven, granddaughter, Michelle Bergeron-Owens of Fairhaven, and great-grandson, Justin Reed Downey of Fairhaven. Her funeral service will be held at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, on Friday, January 25th at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at Vine Lake Cemetery.
