Nancy Ivas Obituary

It is with great sadness to announce that on the night of May 27th, 2018, Nancy Asche Ivas 59, surrounded by her family, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved mother to her two children, James 25, of Scituate and Emily 21, of Scituate. She was a younger sister to her three siblings Tom Asche, North Caldwell N.J, Diane Asche, Nantucket and Jeanne Asche. She also was the former beautiful bride of Donald J. Ivas, Plymouth, Ma. Nancy will forever be remembered for her compassion and altruistic values towards others. She touched many people, both friends and family, with her benevolence, love and generosity. Nancy spent countless hours as a teacher, guiding children on how to improve their health and wellbeing though nutrition. She was also a talented chef and published her own cookbook, Healthy Home Cooking from Nantucket, first published in 1995. She loved walking her dogs and spending time at the beach, especially at Monmouth Beach, N.J. where she grew up as a child. She brought a special light to the world and will be missed dearly. There will be a celebration and memorial of Nancy's life on June 30th, 2018 at 11a.m. at the Church of the Pilgrimage UCC, 8 Town Square, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Dear Emily and James,
We just learned about your mom's passing and are shocked and very, very sad. Nancy was a kind, hardworking woman who loved you two beyond words. Although we never met you, please know that we are thinking of you and wishing you both peace and warm memories of your mom.

Emily and James & Family, I was so sad to hear about the passing of your mom...Nancy was a good friend and an adoring mother! We spent many laughs together after dropping our girls at pre-school (yes, many years ago, but it seems like yesterday!) or watching them in dance class. We shared our love of dogs and the importance of women's health issues. We trained for and completed the 60- mile Avon Breast Cancer together...a very meaningful journey for both of us!

Nancy was warm, loving, and truly one of the kindest people I have ever met. She will be missed and I am so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Emily and James
We are so shocked and so sorry to hear this news. I was just thinking about your mom the other day and how I needed to get in touch with her, perhaps she was sending me a message and then saw this. I loved our friendship and always so much appreciated our chats about life, her support and advice. The world has definitely lost one of its shining stars. You two were so very lucky to have had her for your mom. Please get in touch with me Emily, as I would love to talk to you and see how you are doing. Love to you both Mary Jane (781-632-7073), Steve, Tyler and Natasha Mills

Emily & James, my deepest sympathy to you and family. Your Mom was my friend. We shared many talks and good laughs, some tears and always her joy at being your Mom.
She taught me much and was always there for me.
My heart is sad...this world needs her and she's left too soon.
Carry her love in your heart and make others smile the way she always did.
Love to you both. My prayers are with you.
