Philip P. Torrance Sr.

Philip P. Torrance Sr. of Plymouth died peacefully Feb. 12. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Marie (Salamone); loving father of Donna Leahan and her husband Jeff of Carver, Philip Torrance Jr. and his wife Deb of Carver and Joseph Salamone and his life partner Marcia Ricardo of Plymouth; brother of the late Gerald Torrence and George Torrence; cherished grandfather of Alyssa Perry, Seth Perry, Joseph Salamone Jr., Justin Salamone, Madelynn Freitas and Drew Torrance and the late Haley Torrance; great-grandfather of Taryn Salamone, Jared Salamone, Ava Freitas, Brooke Leigh Perry and Autumn Joy Perry. Born in Plymouth, March 22, 1932, a son of the late Robert and Mary A. (Wood) Torrance, he was educated in the Plymouth schools and later served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a longtime lobsterman and retired at the age of 74. He was a member of the Mass. Lobstermans Assn., Cold Spring Club, Plymouth Country Club and Southers Marsh where he was an avid golfer. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Peters Church, Plymouth, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday from 4-7 p.m. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, at 12:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, donors@stjude.org.
