Kathleen M. McKinnon

Kay McKinnon passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 peacefully and at home. Born in Swampscott, MA to the late Kathleen (Bailey) and John Macdonald; Kay was raised in Lynn, MA; she attended St Mary Grammar school and St Mary Girls High School. She was the loving wife of the late Harold F. McKinnon, Jr. for 64 years until his death in 2018. Harold and Kay were childhood sweethearts and shortly after their marriage they moved to Marblehead to raise their family. Mom loved Wednesday pasta nights (a 50 year tradition), her children, her coffee pals (at the Muffin Store and later at Dunkins) summers in Maine, sailing on Long Lake, the Town of Marblehead, and above all else - her cherished grandchildren. Kay was a Real Estate Broker at the Sagan Agency for many years. She was a long time parishioner at Our Lady, Star of the Sea. In her early years in town she was involved in the League of Women Voters, was a tour guide at the Lee Mansion and drove the nuns of SOS around town for decades! Kay is survived by her children, Robert (Dominica), Kathleen (Dennis) Corbett, Michael (Deborah) and Carolanne (Christophor) Cavalieri. She was a loving Grammy to Erin, Alexandria, Hal III, Bailey, Patrick, Jonathan, Ellie and DJ. She leaves several great grandchildren. A Mass commemorating her life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady, Star of the Sea, 85 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead, MA. Burial will be private.
