Stephen G. O'Brien

Stephen G. O'Brien, 50, of Rockland, died on Saturday, August 9, 2010 at the Boston Medical Center. Son of the Nancy OBrien-Rouse of South Boston and the late Edmund OBrien. Stephen was raised and educated in South Boston. He worked for many years as a manager for the AM/PM Glass Company in Boston. Mr. OBrien was very active in Youth Hockey, acting as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Bay State Breakers Jr. A League Hockey Program. He also played hockey for many years in the D and P Hockey League at the Rockland Rink. Mr. OBrien was a member of the Rockland Aerie of Eagles #841, as well as the Rockland Lions Club. Steve was a fun loving guy, who enjoyed golf, following the Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics, and telling a good story. More than anything however he loved to spend time with his family. He was the husband of Deborah OBrien of Rockland. Father of Erin K. OBrien of Rockland, Stephen G. OBrien of Rockland, and Kellie A. OBrien of Rockland. Brother of Cheryl O'Brien of South Boston, Paul O'Brien and his wife Janet of Rockland, Karen O'Brien and Adrian Doolin of South Boston, Susan O'Brien of Hull, James O'Brien and Kathy Lunnin of South Boston, Gary O'Brien and his wife Patty of South Boston, and Richard O'Brien and his wife Kelly of South Boston. stepson of the late James Rouse. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends. The OBrien family welcomed friends and loved ones to celebrate Stephens life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street, Rockland on Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 13 in the Living Hope The Four Square Church in Hanover at 11 a.m. Services will be followed by cremation.
