William F. Deady

William F. Deady, 88, a resident of Sherborn for 49 years, formerly of Framingham, passed peacefully Sunday January 15, 2017 at home surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Smith) Deady with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Framingham, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Riley) Deady. A graduate of Framingham High School in 1945, he immediately enlisted in the Navy and served at the end of World War II. Mr. Deady then enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War before his honorable discharge in 1953 earning the rank of Captain. Mr. Deady spent many years serving in the Army Reserves. He later graduated from Utah State University with a bachelors degree in Business and Social Science, and began his career as an educator at Kennedy Junior High school in Natick before retiring in 1980. Mr. Deady was a man of many interests including raising sheep in Sherborn. He was a member of the Natick Elks. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: William F. Deady, Jr. of Sherborn, Bernadette N. Calvario & husband William of Hopkinton, Lisa E. Macioci of Fitchburg and Ralph J. Deady of Bellingham; 5 grandchild ren: Mich ael Macioci, Stefanie Macioci, Derrick Calvario, Lynsy Calvario and Matthew Macioci; and a niece: Maureen Deady Palmer. He was the brother of the late: Arlene Trudeau, Ralph Deady and Bernard "Smoky" Deady. Visiting hours are Friday January 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday January 21 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 35 South Main St., Sherborn. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne will be held at a later date.
