Judith Sharigian Obituary

Bourne resident Judith Ann Judy Sharigian, age 77, died peacefully at her home on Monday, August 17, 2015. She was a former E. Orleans and Walpole resident. She was born on March 17, 1938 in Norwood, the daughter of John Peter Jack and Elizabeth Alice (Fulton) Holliday. She grew up in Walpole where she attended and graduated high school in 1955. She went on to obtain her bachelors degree from Northeastern University, and then duel Masters Degrees in Education and Psychology from Antioch University. She also put in several credits towards a PhD in Psychology. Judy worked as an interior designer before becoming a Teacher and Psychologist. She was helping design the Pauls Mall Jazz Club in Boston when she met Simon Sharigian. On December 10, 1967, they were united in marriage at the East Walpole St. Marys Church. Judy enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling, skiing and horseback riding. She was a foster Mother and in her earlier years was an avid tennis player. Judy loved spending time on the beach, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed Marthas Vineyard, spending time each summer in Aquinnah on the Clay Cliffs. Judy always looked forward to Wednesday lunches with her friends at the Bourne Council of Aging. Her most favorite times though, were the ones spent with her grandchildren. Preceding Judy in death were her parents, her husband Simon, and her brother Rodney Holliday. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Michael Sharigian and his wife Marcia Roeder of Goshen, Indiana, Darah Vacher and her husband Steven of North Attleboro, Meghan Finkel and her husband Micah of Huntington, NY. She is also survived by her siblings Susan Jean Ciancarelli and her husband Joseph of Attleboro, and Kathleen Kathy Holliday and her husband Jeffrey Carlson of Edgartown. Six grandchildren Matthew Sharigian and his wife Carin, Jared Vacher, Caitlin Vacher, Wilder Finkel, August Finkel, and Miles Finkel. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, but was especially close to Alex Carlson, Matthew Sharigian, Amy Cofsky and her Goddaughter Andrea Ciancarelli. A visitation with the family will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA 02532, on Sunday, August 23, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Judy was proud of the fact she was born on St. Patricks Day and always enjoyed going out celebrate for a boiled dinner. For those attending services, youre invited to wear the color green. Judy was compassionate and kind. She devoted her life to her family, grandchildren and helping troubled teens and children. She had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation will take place after services, and inurnment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, at a later date. The family suggest memorial contributions be made in Judys name to the Bourne Council on Aging. Friends may share condolences and sign the register book online at www.nickersonbournefuneralhome.com

Darah, Meghan and Michael, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a beautiful, talented, fascinating soul who raised some equally beautiful, talented and fascinating daughters (sorry, Michael; I never got to know you!). She will be missed, and will live on in you and your children. xo.
