Helen Conroy

Helen F. (Ahearn) Conroy, 95, of Norwood, died January 5 in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. She was the wife of the late Frederick J. Conroy. Born in Norwood, September 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Maurice J. and Anne (Ryan) Ahearn, Mrs. Conroy was raised in Walpole and had lived in Norwood for over 65 years. Mrs. Conroy had been a clerk in the Town of Norwood Treasurers office for over 20 years before retiring. Helen enjoyed reading, especially mysteries. She also enjoyed her times in Dennisport and being in the company of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members. She is survived by her children, Mary OReilly of Foxboro, Peter Conroy and his wife Karen of Foxboro, Paul Conroy of Mansfield, Mark Conroy and his wife Bernadette of Foxboro and Tricia Conroy of Norwood. Helen is also survived by her brother M. Joseph Ahearn and his wife Jean of Sandwich and her sister and best friend Jane Ahearn of Walpole. She was the sister of the late Richard Ahearn. Helen is also survived by her grandchildren, Caitlyn Cuomo and her husband Brent, Maura OReilly, Brendan OReilly and his wife Jessica, Kyla Conroy, Korey Pell and her husband John, Suzanne Creeden and her husband David, Steven Conroy, M.J. Conroy and Jillian Conroy, and her great- grandchildren, Harrison, Lincoln, Olivia, Christopher and Madeline. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 14 from the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at 9:00 followed by a funeral mass in St. Marys Church Foxboro at 10:00. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 13 from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Norwood Ecumenical Food Pantry, 150 chapel Street, Norwood, MA 02062.
