Thomas Donelin Obituary

Thomas R. Donelin Jr., age 60 of Westwood, formerly of Quincy, died November 16th 2013 at Beth Israel Hospital after a brief courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Beloved son of the late Thomas R. and Mary C. (Mulvehill) Donelin. Loving brother of Patricia A. Donelin of Norwood, Kathryn Donelin of Westwood and Clare Mazza and her husband Kevin of Quincy. Devoted uncle of Bridget, Emily and Grace Mazza. Cherished nephew of Margaret M. Sullivan of Brewster and Reverend John R. Mulvehill, pastor of Saint Anthony Parish, Cohasset. Also sur- vived by many loving cousins and friends. Tom was raised in Quincy and spent the past 24 years in Westwood. He was a 1971 graduate of Boston College High School and 1975 grad- uate of Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He went on to earn a degree in Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Tom worked as a pharmacist at Brigham and Womens Hospital, Faulkner Hospital, and Whidden Memorial Hospital. He was passionate about retail pharmacy and the opportunity it offered to interact with customers. He worked at various retail pharmacies including Osco, Brooks, and Rite Aid Pharmacies. As owner of Holbrook and Quincys Naborhood Pharmacies he enjoyed a personal relationship with his customers. Toms gift was in counseling patients; he was your neighborhood pharmacist. Tom was a counselor, advisor, friend and mentor to all. Tom was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan and participated in several dart leagues on the South Shore. An accomplished cook, he took pleasure in experimenting with new recipes. Tom appreciated the arts and music and took great pride in his Irish heritage. Toms true love was his family. I am so sorry to hear about Tommy's death. I am heartbroken. He was a wonderful friend when I was first becoming an adult, and we had great fun working together at the Commonwealth Bank and riding around listening to Grateful Dead 8 track recordings. What a fun and good guy! xo Beth Dolan Whitehead

Dear Pat,Katie and Clare
When we asked God for a flower,
He gave us a garden.
We asked for a tree,
He gave us a forest.
We asked for a river,
He gave us an ocean.
We asked for a brother, uncle, cousin and friend,
He gave us "Tom."
My prayers and thoughts are with you.I am sorry that I cant be there to help you celebrate Tom's life.
