Dorothy Griffin Obituary

Dorothy M. (Walsh) Griffin, a lifelong resident of Weymouth died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Royal Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Braintree. She was 92 years of age. She graduated from Weymouth High School class of 1934. She was a longtime employee of Basile Catering of Braintree. She enjoyed reading and especially loved being with her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late William H. Griffin. Devoted mother of Leslie Griffin Scavo of Weymouth, Dianne M. Griffin of Weymouth and David L. Griffin of FL. Loving grandmother of Lisa Scavo of Weymouth. Sister of the late Walter L. Walsh, Warren Walsh and Evelyn Karstunen. Funeral was from the McDonald Funeral Home, EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles St. (corner of Middle and Charles St.) Thursday, March 25, at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in Immaculate Conception Church, East Weymouth at 11:00 Oclock. Visiting hours were omitted. Interment, Old North Cemetery, North Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothys memory to the Immaculate Conception Church, 1199 Commercial St., Weymouth, MA. 02189. Mcdonald-funeralhomes.com.

Dear Leslie and Dianne,
I am so sorry to hear about moms passing. She was a very important member of the Basile Catering Family.
She and Helen Brown where the first two waitresses to start Frank Basile Caterers. She was so loved by my parents and myself. I am Sorry for your loss. God Bless Love John Basile
