I live near Plain Street Cemetery and I visit Kate’s grave often. I never knew her but was shocked by the news of her accident and touched by the outpouring of love that she elicited. May Christ cradle her soul in his arms and God bless her forever. PB

I did not know your "Beautiful" daughter nor your family. But her terrible death touched my heart. I needed to go to her grave today to say a prayer for her and your family. I was taken back by the amount of white butterfly's all around her site! I then looked and saw silk butterfly's in an arrangement. God "has" taken her to heaven to be by his side. To me, that is what butterflies nean. There were about 5-6 at the site. May GOD help you through this. She n you will be in my prayers tonight and always. Our church prayed for all of you at Sunday mass at St.Frances of Assist in Braintree. I hope it helped. Sincerely, Joan

I did not know your daughter,granddaughter,sister,niece and cousin, but my heart broke when I heard. No words can be said but I do hope all the prayers from a very large community (I grew up in Braintree and graduated with Ellen) will bring comfort and strength. Kate- play volleyball everyday in heaven and smile, and show your brothers and mom and dad, that everything will be ok and you are right there with them, everyday. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

It is with great saddness that I send my love and prayers to all of you! Growing up on Amherst Rd in Braintree was as Kenny Kirkland said was the greatest neighborhood to grow up! I am so very sorry for this horrible tragedy. The amazing outpouring of love from this community hopefully will help to ease your pain. The amount of people that shared your grief at both the wake and beautiful funeral service today hopefully will help ease your pain. I teach first grade at SFX. Your Kate was a prayer partner to one of my kids. Yesterday, I was cleaning out a drawer in my desk and came across a picture of your Kate during a Mass. She was singing, had her hands raised and was smiling. It took my breath away. I sent it along to you in the hopes that it will give you some peace and comfort. I imagine she looks like that today, but with the addition of well earned angel wings. Peace to you and your loved ones.

My sincere condolences on this unimaginable loss. The entire community is devastated by the passing of this shining star. Kate was in the same grade as my daughter Caleigh and Liam was in the same class as my daughter Corinne at St. Francis Xavier. We all recall her beautiful smile and kind heart. I had the privilege of being Kate's Spanish teacher at SFX and remember her innate intelligence and gentle demeanor. It was an honor to know and teach such a wonderful young lady.
