Richard T. Canale

Richard T. "Butch" Canale, 75, of Quincy, died May 2, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Sharon A. (Megna), with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 28. A lifelong Quincy resident, he was the youngest of 8 children born to the late James and Blanche (Freeman) Canale. Butch retired after many years of work as an auto body repairman and mechanic in the Quincy area. Although he enjoyed working in the flower gardens he cultivated around his home, his favorite times were those spent in the company of his loving family. He was the father of Kimberly A. Sacchetti and her husband Peter of Plymouth, Michelle R. Canale of Quincy, Richard D. Canale of Quincy and Eric J. Canale of Carver; dear brother of Helen Osborne and her husband James of Brockton. Also survived by 8 cherished grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Visiting hours Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center. A prayer service will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. Interment private.
