Stephen Rockwood Obituary

Stephen K. Rockwood, age 62, passed away peacefully Jan. 8, 2012, at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Ariz., after a long illness. He was the beloved son of Racine Rockwood of Seattle and the late Kelton Rockwood of South Weymouth. He was also the beloved twin brother of Andrew Rockwood (Carol) of Peoria, Ariz., and the beloved brother of the late Nancy R. Buchan (John) of Shropshire, England. A former member of the U.S. Coast Guard, crew member of the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System and the Washington State Ferry System, he resided in Seattle after 30 years in Alaska. He is also survived by niece, Laura B. Worrall (Allan); and nephews, James Buchan of Shropshire, England, and Alex Rockwood of Colorado; and two great-nieces, Abigail and Elizabeth Worrall; and many cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held in May at the Arms Cemetery, Shelburne Falls, and a celebration of life will be held in Seattle this spring. Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USCG. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
