Elizabeth Keleher O'Doherty, (Betty to her family and friends) passed away peacefully at home on March 9. 2019 surrounded by her daughters and her extended family. Born in Woburn, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Elizabeth Keleher; and she married the late Thomas ODoherty in 1948. They were married for 58 years and lived in Winchester, MA for many years before moving to Milford, NH. As a student at St. Charles in the 1940s, she contributed to the war effort as a welder. She went on to work as a telephone operator for several years as she and her husband started a family. The years of her life were distinguished by her large family, summers on Hampton Beach, her avid reading, frequent trips to Foxwoods, her legendary home fries, turkey stuffing, and marriage to an adoring husband. Her only regret will be not seeing the Mueller investigation reach her preferred outcome. Betty is survived by five daughters: Maureen of Milford; Kathy and her husband Shaheen Mozaffar of Woburn; Anne of Portsmouth, NH; Mary of Milford, and Patricia and her husband Norman Glanovsky of West Hartford, CT. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Yahna and Darren Michaud, Joshua and Stephanie Estes, Simone Bonneville and John Longstreth, Maddie Bonneville, Josef and Kristina Bonneville, Ian and Shawna Glanovsky, Moriah and Ned Lovely, and Colin and Meghan Glanovsky, as well as by 11 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth is survived by her sister Connie Wassell of Georgia, and her brother John Keleher of Lakeville, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary F. Griffin and Jean Rodriguez. No end of analogies come to mind to describe Bettys role in this large family--glue, pillar, center-of-gravity--all of them speaking to the influence she had on the lives of her loved ones. As her husband was never shy to point out, Betty was the boss, the War Department, the source of all family authority. Her family inherits down through the generations her sense of humor, love of family, of history, and her stubborn defense of her convictions. Her descendants will carry her not only in their memories but in the strengths (and neuroses) she embodied so well. The Funeral will be from the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Friday, March 15 at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10:00 am. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to: SHARE, 1 Columbus Ave., Milford, NH 03055 or online at
