Donald "Don" Edgar Hubbard, age 90 of Carrollton, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 in Mecosta. Don was born the son of the late Franklin and Madalene (Sedgwick) Hubbard on August 8, 1935 in
Manchester, CT. Don studied Foresty, Woodshop and Metal at Springfield Technical Community College in 1953 earning a Bachelors Degree. He joined the Navy Reserves flying Helicopters before transferring to the Marine Corp. where he served for another 24 years as a pilot. Over his military career Don flew over 16 different type of Aircraft; he had been shot down twice. Don was a Decorated Major in the USMC having served during the Vietnam War. To say flying was his passion was an understatement. Don married his children's mother Irma in 1956; with her passing away shortly thereafter. Later in life he was united in marriage to his beloved Arleen Marie Hergenroeder on July 21, 1987 with her predeceasing him on September 24, 2019. Don had been a flight instructor and had received his Real Estate License. Don always said you can never have too much schooling; throughout his life he had earned several other smaller Degrees. He loved to travel, camping, rodeo's, mudd boggs, tinkering, solving the Rubik's cube, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Don will be remembered as a big joke teller; the love he had for his God and Country and the memories he left will never fade away.
