Pamela Gaffner Obituary

Pamela Sue Gaffner, age 70, of Harrison passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Medilodge of Clare under the care of MyMichigan Hospice.

In following with Pam's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from Clare County Senior Community Center, 101 Michigan Street, Farwell, Michigan 48622, with Pastor Christine Johnson officiating.

Pam was born on December 23, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Herman and Betty (Strahota) Mercer. She married Patrick Gaffner on June 30, 2000, in Harrison. Pam enjoyed bird watching, doing diamond paintings, playing bingo, going to the casino, reading, and traveling to Lake Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. She always enjoyed watching the sunset of the Great Lakes.

Pam is survived by her husband, Patrick Gaffner; children, Kevin (Dawn) VanBlarcom of Coleman, Nikki VanBlarcom, Amber (Arnold) Kaczor, Charlie Vanarama, Jimmy Sutton, and Todd Sutton, all of Clare; stepchildren, Patrick "Sean" Gaffner of Mt. Pleasant, Russell Gaffner of Mt. Pleasant, and Melissa Smith of Georgia; grandchildren, Chance and Chelsea Ferguson, Ethan and Seth Kaczor, Tyler Laviolette, Gary VanBlarcom, Tasha Smith, Keeliegh Morris, and Kaiden Morris; siblings, Walter Mercer, Darcy LaLone of Shepherd, Brenda Mercer of Florida, Joane (Kim) Scicluna of Lakes Isabella, and Luann (Lee) Fellows of Sanford; fur baby, Bud the pug; and many nieces and nephews.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Christopher Gaffner; and siblings, brothers, Michael, and Ted Mercer.
