James Catron Obituary

JAMES HARMON CATRON passed away at University of Tennessee Medical Center on July 10, 2023, at 52-years of age of a catastrophic cardiovascular event. James was born on February 16, 1971, at South Williamson, KY AH. He graduated valedictorian of both South Williamson grade school and Belfry High School. James went on to the University of Kentucky for undergraduate school and pharmacy school. After obtaining his doctorate in pharmacy, he started working at Economy Drug in Pikeville, Ky. This is where he met and fell in love with Chaunda Smith in 1996. Their love created two beautiful daughters, Gia and Antanina.
Unfortunately, James fell victim to addiction and struggled with it for years. Once he was sober, he worked to re-obtain his pharmacy license so that he could help those that also wanted to become sober. He accomplished this by working at a suboxone clinic in Knoxville, Tenn., and speaking at numerous Ad meetings. James always shared his experiences to help those in recovery. In addition to his life as a pharmacist, he enjoyed being a salesman as he loved to connect with people.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Wilson Catron, maternal grandparents Clyde and Mabel Clay Wilson, paternal grandparents Walter B. Sr. and Mary Alice Ray Catron, Aunt Barbara Wilson Woods, and cousin Wendy Elizabeth Hazelett.
James is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Gia Josephine Hodges and Antanina Rose Hodges (Chaunda Hodges); his two sisters, Laura Ann Catron and Allison Catron Parsley (Allen Parsley), stepbrother Eric Brumfield (Jennifer Brumfield), Aunt Paula Wilson Smith, loving father
Walter B. Catron (Debra Catron), many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
