William Nathan "Billy" Modlin
JAMESVILLE - William Nathan "Billy" Modlin, 80, a resident of Jamesville, NC, passed away at ECU Health Bertie in Windsor on Tuesday - September 30, 2025. Billy was born in Martin County, NC, to Clyde Henry and Annette Dupree (Jones) Modlin on May 12, 1945.
Throughout his career, Billy worked as an auto mechanic, at Weyerhaeuser, farmed, and worked for various farm equipment dealers as a mechanic and later as a service manager. Billy was a member of Poplar Chapel Church in Jamesville.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, (Clyde and Annette) and 3 half siblings: Mary Clyde Modlin Hardison (of Columbia, NC), Oma Faye Modlin Schorb (of Satellite Beach, FL), and James Davis "Buster" Modlin (of Jamesville, NC).
Billy is survived by: daughters Kristy Dupree Modlin and Amy Modlin Gibbs (and Dan), granddaughters Caroline Nicole Gibbs and Kate Olivia Gibbs, nephew Timmie Modlin, and numerous cousins.
A visitation will be held at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston on Thursday - October 2, 2025, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at Poplar Chapel Church of Christ in Jamesville on Friday - October 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Jamesville Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Amy and Dan Gibbs (19386 US Highway 64, Williamston).
The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
