Billy Britton Obituary

Willits native Billy Britton was born on June 10, 1947, and. passed away Monday, March 12, 2007, at his Willits home with his wife Joyce and grandson Eric, whom he raised, by his side.

Billy was a native son who spent his youth in Round Valley, served his country as a soldier in North Korea, and worked as equipment operator at PG&E for 35 years in Ukiah.

The most important of his years were spent raising his grandson, Eric Saucedo.

Billy was a man well-liked and loved by all who knew him. He was a loving husband to Joyce for 39 years and father to James and John Jackson and Sherry Jackson/Saucedo.

Billy also is survived by grandchildren Jamie, Cristal, Jameson, Samantha and Jevins Jackson; River, Miaya and Mikai Jackson, Shudra Hulsey; Eric, Deric, Carry, Brandon, and Ralph Saucedo; and by great-grandchildren Jace Haddon and Angel Alvarez.

Billy also leaves sisters Barbara Wilsey, Elsie Whipple, Pauline Gravier and Susan Betts; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Ed Britton, and by a sister, Margaret Breedlove.

Billy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A wake and viewing will be held at Round Valley Methodist Church in Covelo Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Billy will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in Covelo.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I have fond memories of growing up in Covelo with Aunt Vi and Uncle Ed and all of our cousins... Billy is truly in a better place. I hope you have wonderful memories to get you through this rough time. (Shirley Britton-Delgado's granddaughter)
