Robert G. Petty - April 8th 1932 to November 11th 2020
Farwell my friends, I have walked my last mile. I have rejoined my beloved wife, and I leave behind my adoring children and their families to carry on my legacy. I was born on April 8th, 1932 to Sam and Pauline Petty in Willits California. I was the youngest of my three siblings, whom I have now rejoined, my brother Richard and my sister Louise, as well as my parents.
I graduated from Willits High in 1950, and shortly after met the love of my life Joan Elliott in Willits who I married August 12th, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Willits, it was a beautiful day. We bought a home on West Mendocino where we raised our three children Bruce Petty, Kim Henderson, son-in-law Allan, and Jeff Petty, daughter-in-law Christy. They gifted me with my nine beautiful grandchildren Christian, Kalin, and Brendan Henderson, Katelyn, Karie, Kimmy, and Koleton Petty, Hunter and Lucas Petty, and my great granddaughter's Phoenix and Noamia. All who I will miss dearly.
I lived in Willits my whole life, apart from short stints where I served in the U.S. Army when I was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, California during the Korean war, as well as San Francisco, California for 10 months where I trained to be a Barber. I was a Barber for over 40 years and owned the Willits Barber Shop retiring in 1995. I served my community for 30 years with the Willits Fire Department and was a member of the I.O.O.F. I also served a term with the Willits Unified School District in the mid 70's. I loved my community and enjoyed volunteering my time to serve the city and people of Willits.
In October of 2019 I made my last journey to Ventura, California to live full time with my son Bruce, and grandchildren Kimmy and Koleton, where I lived out the remainder of my days very comfortably and close to the beach. I stayed busy helping out with the gardening and going for walks around the neighborhood with Bruce and their dog Molly.
I will miss my family and friends, but my story has played out to its final chapter. After 88 wonderful years of life, it is with a heavy heart, that here is where I say Goodbye to all those who I hold close to my heart. Goodbye, my beloved family, and dear friends. It has been a hoot.

You were such a pleasant man. You will be missed. I’ve been wondering why I hadn’t seen you in so long. My condolences to your family.
