Roger O'Ferrall Obituary

Roger Cleo O'Ferrall passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011, in Covelo.
Born February 28, 1934, in Covelo, he spent his lifetime ranching and raising his family there.
Roger adored his grandchildren and nieces and nephews, particularly enjoying making hot chocolate and marshmallows for them. Always ready to cook, he took great pleasure in preparing meals any time of the day for family and friends. For large groups and organizations, Roger's specialty was his much-enjoyed beans.
For all visitors a pot of fresh coffee and a story were always ready and enjoyed by everyone. At various times Roger was the grand marshal for the Future Farmers of America and the Labor Day Rodeo.
Roger will be greatly missed by all those that loved him and enjoyed his generosity.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; his son Dave (Dee); and two grandchildren, Katie and Jake; brothers Dusty, Mike (Becky), Kevin (Debbie); sister Joyce Dennis (Ken); sisters-in-law Carol, Patty and Ann; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Guy and Bruce; daughter Monica; brothers Wallace, Patrick and Clarence; and his parents, Cleo and Grace.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at the Round Valley Recreation Center in Covelo.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Anker-Lucier Mortuary.
